Nevil Bernard is a French-American animator and illustrator based in Paris. A multidisciplinary artist, he moves between animation, illustration, graphic design and music. Specializing in animated music videos, he develops an animated style guided by rhythm and a visual imagination deeply nourished by sound. His visual work pays particular attention to color, and places a strong emphasis on experimentation and improvisation, as well as narratives situated at the crossroads of pure abstraction and everyday situations.

Born on September 24, 1993 to an American-Japanese ceramist mother and a French composer father, his diverse cultural heritage influences his artistic perspective and fuels his passion for visual narrative and music. He entered the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD) in 2011 and graduated in June 2016 in the animation film section.

He has directed international animated clips for the Rolling Stones, Nina Simone (for whom he won a Clio Music Award), Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck, Billy Joel, Brandt Brauer Frick, Bon Jovi, and visuals for Arctic Monkeys, Floating Points, Four Tet, Shabaka Hutchings, Ben UFO and Barry Can’t Swim. Since 2018, he has also been artistic director of the London-based label Melodies International led by Floating Points. His clients include: Universal Music, Columbia Records, Verve Records, Ninja Tune, Red Bull Music Festival, BMG, Arte, Paris Saint-Germain, Le Bon Marché, Lanvin...

He is represented in France by echo.
